JAVA Volleyball
 
J.A.V.A. MISSION STATEMENT
 
    Jamestown Area Volleyball Athletes, Incorporated (known as J.A.V.A.) is a Junior Olympic Volleyball Travel Organization Program designed to foster growth and development of technical skills and leadership qualities associated with the game of Volleyball. J.A.V.A. supports self-motivating, aggressive play and good character through positive training sessions and quality competition.
 
J.A.V.A.’S  PURPOSE
 
    To promote and foster the sound growth and development and the better understanding and knowledge of volleyball, other athletics, and young athletes by providing for the mutual assistance, enjoyment, entertainment, and improvement of its Members socially, mentally, and physically by encouraging them in participation in some form of athletics, sports, or physical recreation, including but not limited to volleyball, through holding of competitions, games, tournaments, clinics, and instructive demonstrations.
 
J.A.V.A.’S OPERATIONS
 
    First,  J.A.V.A. Corporation is organized exclusively for one or more of the purposes as specified in Section 501(c)(3) of the internal Revenue Code of 1954, and shall not carry on any activities not permitted to be carried on by a Corporation exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) or correspondence provisions of any subsequent federal tax laws.
 
    Second,  To engage in charitable fund raising activity and solicit funds to support the execution and maintenance of the above mission and purpose.

2006-2007 season highlights
 
The JAVA 18-1’s took 1st Place in the JAVA
spikefest at Jamestown Community College  
on March 11th and another 1st place in the
KEVA Spring Slammer Tournament in Kane, PA.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
JAVA thunder 16-1 took first place in the JAVA Southern Tier Spikefest in Jamestown, NY this past Sunday.  JAVA Thunder also took 1st place in the KEVA 16’s tournament at
Pitt-Bradford on Saturday Feb. 10th and tied for 3rd at the Extreme
Tournament on March 18th.  They also
took 2nd place in the OVR 16’s
tournament in Parma, OH.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
JAVA Scrunch 16-2 took 2nd place in the KEVA 16’s
tournament at Pitt-Bradford.  Scrunch also took 3rd place
 at the NFVB Fab February tournament on Feb. 18th.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
JAVA Zap 14-1 placed 3rd at the KEVA
14’s tournament at Pitt-Bradford and placed 2nd at the 2007 JAVA spikefest in Jamestown, NY.  They also place 3rd in the KAEPA Tournament
in Horseheads, NY.

JAVA 2007-2008 Practice schedule:
 
 
18’s will practice at Falconer High School on Sundays from 1:00pm-3:30pm
 
16-1’s will practice at Jamestown Community College on Sundays from 6:00pm-9:00pm
 
16-2’s  will practice at Jamestown Community College on Sundays from  6:00pm-9:00pm
 
14’s will practice at Falconer High School on Sundays from 1:00pm-3:30pm
